Look, a keyboard is a keyboard — they all serve pretty much the same function at the end of the day. So this choice is going to be about style, feel, and personal preference.
That being said, my choice for Best Overall goes to the Bamboo Wireless Keyboard and Mouse by Trio Gato, a knockout in every aspect of keyboard quality!
I’m a big fan of a full layout with a number pad since a lot of my day job consists of punching in figures, but even without that extra convenient setup, this bamboo keyboard is a sweet product.
The handcrafted build is solid and sturdy, with a really nice glossy veneer to keep it looking clean no matter how much wear you put on it. Which in my case is a huge plus considering how much I type in a given day.
In terms of aesthetics, the light color of the bamboo is beautiful – I love seeing the grain in my natural colored products. For a little added style, the grain direction on the keys is perpendicular to the main housing. Which is a really neat, subtle choice.
Looks aside, this is still a workhorse with a nice set of risers in the back to achieve the perfect incline for long periods of work. Along with a satisfying, but short, action on the keys so you never mis-register what you’re typing.
The connection is wireless, and it uses a single USB-A Bluetooth receiver for both the keyboard and the mouse which comes with it (bonus!) to keep your desk cable-free.
